How the Hoppadi Play Sofa
came to life
It started in a typical Swiss home where kids' rooms are not enormous, and toys tend to make their way into the living room anyway.

As a mom of two little girls, I've been looking for toys that satisfy the kids' needs for physical play like jumping, sliding, and balancing, as well as provide ways to engage in imaginative play. I realized it is difficult to find toys that offer a multitude of play options and look good even in our living room.
​
Having a background in product research, my mind started wandering towards the concept of soft play furniture that combines fun, practicality, and style. I wanted it to be a product that grows with the child and can be used for years, while keeping in mind the reality of a typical Swiss home.
​
After multiple iterations and thorough testing by little test clients, all pieces came together in a design that the little ones as well as their parents were happy with. I called the play sofa Hoppadi, as a reference to the sound of little feet hopping on the soft mattresses and cushions.

My toddler daughter has been continuously surprising us parents with new ways to play and build with the Hoppadi play sofa. It has become her go-to place to play with her baby sister or take a break to read a book.

The play sofa is made by a Swiss family-owned furniture manufacturer with decades-long expertise in making premium quality upholstery furniture.

The foam pieces of the sofa are cut into shape with precision, and the fabric covers are carefully crafted by in-house expert seamstresses. The team takes care of the entire manufacturing process from start to finish. This enables to closely control all steps of the process and guarantees consistent product quality.

The sofa is designed with attention to detail in terms of functionality and design aesthetics. Balanced proportions and special elements such as hidden zippers make the sofa comfortable to use and easy to maintain.

Safe, premium materials
Both our fabrics and foam are certified with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, the best-in-class label for safety of materials.

The fabrics are designed to reduce the absorption of liquids, meaning that small spills and messes are easy to clean up. They are also highly resistant to abrasion to withstand daily use and repeated machine-washing.
The foam inside the sofa is certified both with the OEKO-TEX® and CertiPUR standards, ensuring that it is free of harmful chemicals. It has a high density to ensure durability, while being soft and comfortable for sitting and playing.

Kind to the environment
We strive to reduce the environmental footprint in the product itself, the manufacturing process and supply chain.
The fabric and foam are cut in a way to optimize material consumption and reduce waste in the production process. Producing locally in Switzerland supports local businesses and also means that the carbon footprint from shipping the product to customers is as small as possible.
